Fields used by Colorado athletes don’t become playable by magic. Maintenance can be considerable. Accordingly, David Rulli, in command of Jefferson County, the state’s largest district, recently was honored by the Sports Turf Managers Association. In its 21st version, the group recognized Rulli for having an impact on the industry, team leadership, work ethic and service to the association’s board. You may recognize the name of one of the STMA founders — George Toma, also known as the Sod God.
