Light snow is expected to continue throughout the day today, but it isn’t expected to cause many problems.

The National Weather Service in Boulder forecasts light snow across the foothills and metro Denver.

About 3 inches are expected in total accumulation through Tuesday.

“It’s very light, but it’s what we were expecting,” said meteorologist Robert Koopmeiners.

“At least we’re getting some moisture.”

Early Sunday, there were some road closures because of weather-related accidents.

Southbound Interstate 25 was closed at Trinidad approaching the New Mexico border.

As the snow starts to clear up, cold air will settle in, Koopmeiners said.

Today’s highs aren’t expected to go above 30 degrees, and the lows could dip into single digits in some areas.
