CASTLE ROCK — A man who was shot after a Douglas County deputy said the man rammed him was released from the hospital Monday and booked into jail.

Reese Slade, 43, is in the Jefferson County jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Castle Rock authorities said they chased Slade after he was weaving in and out of traffic late Friday. Deputies cornered Slade, and when one got out of his vehicle, Slade rammed into him, authorities said. Another deputy then shot Slade. The first deputy was treated at an area hospital and released.

In 2001, Slade was sentenced to 64 years in prison, but he was released in 2006 when his sentence was set aside by a court order. He has a lengthy criminal record for mostly theft and drug crimes dating back to 1990.
