A mother and her 22-month-old toddler were taken to the hospital after a truck rolled down a Greeley driveway Wednesday afternoon and ran over them.

It happened just after 1 p.m. at a house at 25th Street and Cedar Avenue.

Investigators say the mother, 30-year-old Griselda Castillo-Flores, was washing the inside of a Ford F-150 when, for some reason, the car came out of park and began rolling down the driveway.

Police say the truck struck her 22-month-old toddler, Abigail Hernandez-Castillo.

Investigators say Castillo-Flores was also hurt after attempting to stop the truck.

Both people were taken to North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Castillo-Flores was treated for bruises in her leg.

Hernandez-Castillo was then airlifted to Children’s Hospital with a serious head injury.

Police are investigating.
