THORNTON, Colo.—Thornton police say a 16-year-old boy died after being hit by a car and beaten by the vehicle’s occupants.
Police spokesman Matt Barnes says a house party spilled over to a street at about 1:26 a.m. Monday and that’s when the teenager was struck by the car. Barnes says that people in the car began beating the boy and others around him.
The teenager died from injuries to his head and upper body Monday morning.
Barnes says police are trying to determine whether an altercation at the party triggered the beating.
The boy’s name is being withheld until his relatives are notified.
