Tonight’s Big 12 women’s basketball matchup in Boulder between Colorado and visiting Kansas has been designated “Pink Zone Night” in support of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) initiative to raise awareness about the fight against breast cancer.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink tonight in the Coors Events Center. Those who do may purchase a general admission ticket for $1. Also, the first 2,000 fans in the arena will receive a pink CU bandanna.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m.

More than 1,500 schools nationwide are expected to participate in Pink Zone activities this week.

Colorado (12-11, 2-8 Big 12) will be out to snap a six-game losing streak. Five of those losses have come to ranked teams.

Kansas (14-9, 4-6) was expected to challenge for an upper-tier finish in the Big 12 but lost conference preseason player of the year Danielle McCray to a season-ending knee injury during a practice in early February.

Prior to the injury, McCray scored 29 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in a 75-64 victory over Colorado on Jan. 27 in Lawrence, Kan.
