Fortress Investment Group LLC, whose Intrawest ULC owns Olympic skiing venue Whistler Blackcomb, agreed with creditors to postpone a foreclosure auction set for today, said a person with knowledge of the agreement.
Creditors agreed to extend the auction deadline until Feb. 26, said the person, who declined to be identified because terms are private.
The lender-appointed administrative agent, Wilmington Trust FSB, said the auction would have included stakes in Whistler Blackcomb and Steamboat ski area and a contract to operate Winter Park ski area for Denver.
Broomfield-based Vail Resorts Inc. heads a list of bidders seeking to buy Whistler, the Globe and Mail reported Thursday, citing unidentified people. Kate Coble, a spokeswoman for Vail, declined to comment when contacted by Bloomberg News.
