Considering Shaun White’s celebrity — ratings for his gold medal run on NBC eclipsed Fox juggernaut “American Idol” — President Barack Obama might just want to find a hole in his schedule. While in Denver for a fundraiser, the president devulged he was a fan of the Olympics.
“I am checking my BlackBerry every half hour to see how things turned out,” Obama said “I know this state is the training ground for a few Winter Olympians, who are doing us so proud. I know Shaun White’s secret training facility up on Silverton Mountain paid off. I don’t know how those guys do that, though.”
He could easily find out by dialing up the Flying Tomato. “I’m waiting for a call from Obama and the White House,” White said during NBC’s coverage Thursday.
