DURANGO, Colo.—Fort Lewis College has chosen three finalists to succeed Brad Bartel as president of the school in southwest Colorado.
Elizabeth S. Grobsmith is provost and vice president for academic affairs at Northern Arizona University. Dene Kay Thomas is president of Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, and Kent M. Tingey is vice president for advancement at Idaho State University.
The candidates are scheduled to visit Fort Lewis’ campus in Durango this week and next. Trustees plan to choose a president by the end of March.
Bartel is leaving at the end of the academic year. He has applied to be president of Paradise Valley Community College in Tempe, Ariz.
