Beaver Creek Resort’s one-of-a-kind Crystal Grotto offers an otherworldly experience in an igloo music hall featuring instruments made of ice.

The on-mountain ice cave built by Beaver Creek’s ice artist in residence, Tim Linhart, and his wife, Brigitta, hosts concerts every Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., as well as on select Fridays. An audience of up to 150 is entertained by local musicians The Laughing Bones playing illuminated ice instruments — violin, cello, guitar, banjo, base, mandolin, viola, vibraphone and percussion pieces — handcrafted by Linhart. The music is good, and the experience is like nothing else you’ll ever see on skis.

Tickets are $10 (cash only) per person; a lift ticket or valid ski pass is required, and foot passes are $14 per adult or $4 per child. The 3 p.m. Saturday performance is free for kids 12 and younger.
