Five men who allegedly confessed to burglarizing two homes in Eagle County have been arrested, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.
Four of the five men also have a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold on them for illegally being in the United States, according to investigators.
The men are accused of stealing $7,000 worth of televisions, laptop computers, jewelry and power tools from a West Lake Creek Road residence in Edwards on Dec. 11.
They are also accused of burglarizing a house under construction on Bridger Court in Gypsum on Jan. 11. In that burglary, paint sprayers and other power tools valued at $14,300 were stolen from the home.
Jose Adrian Carreon Favela, 22, ; Javier Salasar Cabrera, 33; Jesus Willibaldo Sanchez Aguirre, 26; Pedro Gallegos Cordero, 26, and Federico Chavez Medrano, 23, are being held in the Eagle County jail.
All live in Edwards, according to investigators.
Cabrera, Aguirre, Cordero and Medrano are being held for the immigration service.
Some of the stolen property was returned to victims, however sheriff’s deputies said some was sold before the defendants were arrested.
