The Swayback stands out among the half-dozen or so excellent local rock shows taking place this weekend. The band will unveil its long-awaited “Die Finks” 7-inch single and video from its L.A. recording sessions with legendary producer Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones) — a clear vinyl-collector’s disc limited to 500 copies. Tonight at the Bluebird with Dust on the Breakers, Sympathy F, Le Divorce and DJ Mike Howard. $10.

Adventure Records will also celebrate the release of its latest compilation of local artists (“Cuvee 6”) tonight at the Hi-Dive, with performances from Sonnenblume, deadbubbles, Carbon Choir and Ramaya Soskin. Admission includes a free CD, with tracks from Paper Bird, Hello Kavita, Six Months to Live and many others. $10.

The Kingston Trio isn’t exactly known as a groundbreaking act these days, but its influence is inestimable. The San Francisco group’s popularity in the late 1950s and early ’60s set the pop-music template for countless performers and kick-started a folk revival that continues in many ways to this day. The group plays to benefit KBDI-Channel 12 on Saturday at the Paramount. $38.
