It took a full regular season to do it, but the University of Wyoming wrestling team has finally broken into the top 25.

The Cowboys were ranked No. 25 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association/USA Today Division I team coaches poll.

UW finished its dual season last week with a win over Air Force to push its overall record to 12-3 and its Western Wrestling Conference mark to 6-0.

The Cowboys’ only losses came at the hands of No. 4 Oklahoma State, No. 15 Oregon State and Michigan State.

Hilltoppers’ swimmers honored.

The University of Denver’s year-round club swimming program, the Hilltoppers, achieved gold medal status from USA Swimming by placing 13th in the nation with 26,115 points. The North Baltimore Aquatic club, coached by Bob Bowman, Michael Phelps’ coach, won the top spot, based on results in 2009, with 56,155 points.
