Sting may be better known for his work with the Police and as a solo soft-rocker, but the 58-year-old is dipping his toes into the classical world by taking London’s Royal Philharmonic on the road, including a June 9 show at Red Rocks. If you’ve ever wondered what “Roxanne” or “Fields of Gold” would sound like with a 45- piece orchestra, here’s your chance. Tickets are on sale March 8 via Ticketmaster. ($49.50-$129.50)

The Eagles’ “Long Road Out of Eden” tour will stop by the Pepsi Center on May 20, and it’s a good bet they’ll sound leagues better than when they played the inaugural concert at Invesco Field at Mile High in 2001 — when acoustic issues had many fans demanding their money back. James Taylor and Carole King seem like natural tour mates, which makes it all the more bizarre that they haven’t hit the road together recently. That changes this summer when the pair plays 16 dates together for their “Troubador Reunion” tour, including a July 14 show at the Pepsi Center. Gipsy Kings, the biggest-selling French act in U.S. history, will bring their hip-shaking tunes to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 9. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($36.50-$85, Ticketmaster)

Superchunk, the ’90s indie-rock heroes whose founders also run the influential Merge Records label, will return from their hiatus for several shows this year, including a headlining gig at the June 19 Westword Music Showcase. Ghostland Observatory, Dirty Projectors, Neon Indian, Single File, Oh My Stars and dozens more local bands will round out the fest, which takes place in and around the Golden Triangle area. Sublime is reuniting with a new lead singer (Rome Ramirez) and seven-date tour that brings the influential SoCal ska-punks to the Fillmore Auditorium on April 26. Ticket presales begin Tuesday on . Be prepared for a more extensive summer tour after this warm-up lap.

Thirty Seconds to Mars, the emo-rock act fronted by actor Jared Leto, continues the tour behind its “This Is War” album with a May 7 show at the Fillmore. Tickets for the show with openers Mute Math, Neon Trees and Street Drum Corps are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($27, )
