PARKER, Colo.—Parker officials say two Denver police officers will be cited with false reporting after one of them allegedly called police to ask officers to check on a colleague.
Parker police say the Denver officer who called last month told police his co-worker had not been to work for three days so he wanted officers to do a welfare check. Parker said they believe the officer was playing a practical joke on his colleague.
Officers Joshua Herrick and Thomas Sanchez each face a misdemeanor charge of false reporting. Parker officials announced the charges Thursday.
