Two Denver police officers are charged with making a false report to Parker police as part a practical joke in January, Douglas County authorities said Thursday.
Joshua Herrick and Thomas Sanchez are each charged with misdemeanors, accused of asking Parker police to go to the home of a co-worker, saying the person had not shown up at work in three days.
The pair later reportedly confessed to the prank.
According to the Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training Board, false reporting is one of the misdemeanors that can disqualify a police officer from certification.
