Grandview 79, Dakota Ridge 78

AURORA — Kevin Gausman’s basket with 10 seconds remaining in the second overtime Friday night was enough for the Wolves to hold off the visiting Eagles in Class 5A’s second round.

Grandview (15-9) will be at Montbello on Tuesday in big schools’ Sweet 16.

Dominique Lawrence (18 points) and Gausman (17) paced Grandview.

For the Eagles, who finished 19-6, Dan Difolco had a season-high 33 points and Derek Vander Velde added 18.

Mountain Range 66, Palmer 65

COLORADO SPRINGS — You want an upset? How about the relatively new and unsung Mustangs, who won on the road at the Terrors in 5A’s second round?

Mountain Range (19-6), a No. 6 seed, will be at Front Range League rival Fairview on Tuesday in the Sweet 16. The Terrors, seeded third in the Ray C. Ball Region, ended 18-6.

Fairview 66, Sand Creek 41

BOULDER — Michael Melillo’s 24 points and 14 by Darragh O’Neill were plenty as the Knights hammered the Scorpions in 5A’s second round.

Fairview improved to 19-5.

Sand Creek, which ended 12-13, was paced by Quadrai Carter’s 10 points.

Aurora Central 73, Overland 65

AURORA — Dese Lee’s 22 points paced the Trojans over the Trailblazers in an Aurora backyard matchup in 5A’s second round.

Aurora Central (18-6) will be at Fountain-Fort Carson on Tuesday.

Derek Coble and Aaron Marshall each scored 16 for Overland (14-11).

East 56, Rangeview 41

The perennial power Angels (16-8) held serve at home against the Aurora Raiders in 5A’s second round.

East will be at Arapahoe on Tuesday. Rangeview finished 16-9.

Arapahoe 61, Loveland 46

CENTENNIAL — The Warriors (21-3), behind 24 points by Tim Billingsley, took care of the Indians in 5A’s second round. Cameron Michael had 21 points for Loveland.

Windsor 69, D’Evelyn 61

Curtis Neely’s 23 points paced the No. 7 Wizards to a surprising victory over the No. 2 Jaguars in 4A’s second round. Charlie Basil had 14 points for D’Evelyn.
