The Imperial Casino Hotel in Cripple Creek shut down Sunday, putting 44 employees out of work, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.
The Imperial was one of the smaller casinos, with 173 slot machines and no table games, according to the Colorado Division of Gaming. It had struggled in recent years, declaring bankruptcy in 2008.
