Big stars don’t usually visit small venues in Denver, but in the space of about a month, The Grizzly Rose will have hosted a pair of the most popular names in country music.
After bringing in a not-so-secret Garth Brooks show under the name Yukon Jack on Sept. 3, the stalwart country music venue and dance hall, which fits about 2,000 people, has booked a concert by Ella Langley, the singer of the mega-popular “Choosin’ Texas.”
Langley just set an all-time record on Billboard’s Top 100 chart after atop the list. That beats out the long-held record from Mariah Carey, who has dominated with the modern-classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (and Langley very likely isn’t finished counting up the total weeks, Billboard added).
Now Langley is playing a Tuesday, Oct. 6, concert at The Grizzly Rose as part of SiriusXM’s Small Stage Series, . Langley’s show will precede her own headlining slot at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Wednesday, Oct. 7, which is long sold out and includes openers Kameron Marlowe and Gabriella Rose.
Fans can sign up to win tickets to the Grizzly Rose show at , with a closing date of Monday, Sept. 29, for submissions. says public tickets “will be on sale soon,” and lists 6 p.m. on the day of the show — or about an hour after doors open — but it’s unclear if that’s the on-sale time. You can also sign up to win a VIP trip with airfare, provided you don’t live in Colorado, at .
The Grizzly Rose show will also air on The Highway channel on SiriusXM at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, featuring “her biggest hits, fan favorites and songs from her latest album, ‘Dandelion,’ ” according to SiriusXM.
