ORLANDO, Fla.—The Powerball jackpot is expected to grow to an estimated $139 million for Saturday after no one matched all six of the numbers in the midweek drawing.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were 7-9-14-45-and-49. The Powerball was 23 and the Power Play was 4.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $118.3 million jackpot.
Five tickets sold in Kansas, Missouri, New Jersey, Oregon and Texas matched the first five numbers only to win $200,000 each, while a similar ticket from North Carolina won $1 million with the Power Play option.
Colorado’s top prize was $400 each for 51 Power Play tickets that matched other number combinations.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
It’s now played in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
