WASHINGTON — Colorado’s senior senator and 13 others introduced legislation Wednesday that would repeal the Pentagon’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that excludes gays from serving openly in the military.
“You don’t have to be straight to shoot straight,” said Barry Goldwater Jr., a veteran and former California Republican congressman.
Added co-sponsor Mark Udall, D-Colo.: “And you certainly don’t have to be straight to recognize who the enemy is.”
