COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Ross Miner, the 2009 U.S. junior figure skating champion, has withdrawn from next week’s world junior championships with an ankle injury.
Miner will be replaced by Keegan Messing, the 2009 U.S. junior silver medalist, for the event in The Hague, Netherlands.
Miner still is bothered by the injury that kept him out of the 2010 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in January. Earlier this season, Miner won gold and silver medals in his Junior Grand Prix competitions and also took bronze at the 2009 Junior Grand Prix final. He came in 10th at the 2009 world juniors.
Messing placed ninth as a senior at nationals this year.
