GROVE CITY, Pa. — A historic Pennsylvania metal forge that made ashtrays for the German airship the Hindenburg has been destroyed by a fire.
A spokeswoman for the Wendell August Forge workshop and gift shop in Grove City says Saturday afternoon’s fire is thought to have started in the workshop, where lacquer was sprayed on bronze pieces. Spokeswoman Danielle Elderkin says all employees and customers escaped unharmed.
