ORLANDO, Fla.—The Powerball jackpot was expected to grow to an estimated $200 million for Saturday after no one matched all six of the numbers in the midweek drawing, the Multi-State Lottery Association said.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were 17, 21, 37, 41 and 50. The Powerball was 1 and the Power Play was 2.
Players matching all five numbers and the Powerball would have won or shared the $172.7 million jackpot.
A Power Play ticket sold in Pennsylvania matched the first five numbers only to win $1 million. The top prize in Colorado was $200 each for 42 Power Play tickets that matched other number combinations, Colorado Lottery officials said.
Powerball was created in 1992 and launched in Colorado in 2001.
The game is now played in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
