The art of lace in clothing, accessories and home decor is demonstrated in “Holes & Knots: A Modern Interpretation of Lace” through March 20 at TACtile Textile Arts Center. On display in the exhibit are new concepts of openwork fabric, such as Trica Hoke’s interpretation, left. Lace can be created by felting, weaving, knitting or crocheting fibers into a fabric with holes. In addition, knotting or twisting thread into a holed fabric such as bobbin lace or the art of Chinese knotting also can create lace. The arts center is also hosting classes taught by Trudy Scholten: beginning bobbin lace, 1-4 p.m. today, and shuttle tatting from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30-4:30 p.m. March 18.
