BOULDER, Colo.—Renae Waters scored 13 points and Bre Burgesser added 12 to lead the Broomfield Eagles to their fourth straight girls Class 4A state basketball championship with a 55-47 win over the Longmont Trojans on Friday night.

Top-seeded Broomfield (27-1) became only the third girls team in state history to win four consecutive titles, joining Wray (1976-79) and Lamar (1995-98).

With the game tied 47-47 with 1:38 remaining, a Tyana Medema field goal sparked an 8-0 run that accounted for the final score.

The fourth-seeded Trojans (24-4) played their Northern League rivals close, but turned the ball over on their last four possessions.

Broomfield, which is 133-5 in its last five seasons, led 24-23 at halftime.

Megan Carpenter led Longmont with 13 points, Jamie Katuna had 12 and Tambre Haddock had 10 points and 13 rebounds.
