LEADVILLE, Colo.—A quiet mountain town high in the Rocky Mountains is struggling to make sense of a local mom accused of playing a role in an Islamis terror plot.
Thirty-one-year-old Jamie Paulin-Ramirez was reported missing last fall from Leadville, where she moved six years ago to live with her mother and young son. Relatives reported Paulin-Ramirez and her son missing last fall.
Paulin-Ramirez was among seven people arrested in Ireland this week as authorities investigate an alleged plot to kill a Swedish cartoonist whose sketch offended Muslims.
Her mother, Christina Mott, tells The Associated Press that Paulin-Ramirez converted to Islam, renamed her son and was teaching him to hate Christians.
