WESTMINSTER, Colo.—Immigration reform is on the table Saturday for Democratic Rep. Jared Polis.
Polis is playing host for an immigration round-table in Westminster. Polis has invited Democratic congressman Xavier Becerra of California to join in the debate.
Polis has repeatedly called for immigration reform. He has sponsored a bill to make it easier for foreign entrepreneurs to receive American visas. That proposal is still pending in the House.
The first-term congressman has also spoken on the floor of the House to criticize a law allowing local law enforcement agencies to enforce immigration law. Polis said last fall that the local immigration enforcement has caused “a sweep of terror” in immigrant communities.
