Dancing for donations

The David Taylor Dance Theatre hosts its annual fundraising gala at 6 p.m. today. Gala admission is free. Pachyderm party

The Denver Zoo celebrates National Elephant Day today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with toasts to its two Asian Elephants, Mimi and Dolly. Visitors can learn more about the connections between humans and elephants, as well as the zoo’s endangered-species-preservation efforts.
