GREELEY, Colo.—Aims Community College is closing some satellite campuses and cutting jobs in response to projected reductions in its 2010-2011 budget.
Aims officials say they will end programs in Greeley, Fort Lupton and Loveland to deal with the expected $2.2 million drop.
Ten full-time and 10 part-time jobs will be cut. Officials say they also are increasing fees and tuition and cutting operating costs.
The cuts include a flight-training center at the Greeley-Weld Airport and a day-care center that handles about 100 children of students and employees. Officials say those campuses were targeted because most students there already go to other Aims campuses for the rest of their classes.
