When a buyer from Oregon walked into D.R. Horton’s model homes at Tollgate Crossing last month, she had already Googled the Cherry Creek Schools and knew about Buffalo Ridge Elementary in the center of the neighborhood. What she didn’t know was that D.R. Horton can deliver a big home here, with four bedrooms, 3-1/2 baths, even a 4-car garage…at a cost of about $77 per-square-foot.
You can tour the model of what she bought…and see another of the same plan that’s set for delivery early this summer. Write a contract on it this weekend and you might close just before the federal tax credit’s June 30 deadline ($8,000 if you’ve never owned a home, $6,500 if you’ve owned a while).
“Our prices are too big a value to pass up; it’s a no-brainer,” says Craig Jaramillo, who along with Carla Lunka made that sale after the buyer had toured five other homebuilders in the area.
That 4-bedroom ‘Saddle’ design is Tollgate Crossing’s most popular plan…first model you’ll tour. It’s 3,087 feet, not counting the unfinished basement. With a $15,000 incentive on the collection, it’s priced from $291,950 (around $92/foot). It comes with a FOUR-car garage (the fourth bay is a tandem space), landscaped front yard, fenced and sodded backyard, and maple kitchen cabs that have bump-ups and bump-downs. Two kids’ beds are on a Jack-n-Jill, and a fourth guest bed has its own bath. Air conditioning is standard.
What’ll really get you is the master: walk-in AND wardrobe closets, luxury bath, and a breakfast-wet bar, all included. You’ll also find nine ranch/main-floor-master plans…and another half-mile east on Belleview, you can tour D.R. Horton’s super-affordable Freedom Series…four plans from $194,950. They offer a $7,500 incentive for financing and are designed for “no money out of pocket” after move-in: full landscaping, full appliances, even window shades included.
The collections are each engineered for today’s price-sensitive market…showcased by a ‘Lenox’ plan, the one at $77/foot, 4,115 feet. “We redesigned everything,” says Jaramillo. Lunka adds that both neighborhoods have master planned amenities that have been designed to keep monthly expenses in check (currently just $57/month, for trails, trash removal, and pool area with clubhouse, all included).
D.R. Horton’s models are two miles north of Southlands shopping center with its dining and attractive outdoor shopping, and three miles from Aurora Reservoir. From E-470 take Smoky Hill east to Aurora Pkwy; then left two miles to Belleview and east.
