Hispanic Heritage Live!
Colorado Humanities is sponsoring the Hispanic Heritage Live! tour bringing Los Angeles actor Fred Blanco to Colorado to perform “The Stories of Cesar Chavez.” The one-man show is free and covers the life and times of the civil rights leader. The Hispanic Heritage Live! tour continues through the week, with performances at high schools across the state and a 6 p.m. show Thursday at the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building, 201 W. “Riders on the Storm.” “Hello, I Love You.” “Break On Through.” The Wheeler Opera House is hosting a screening of “When You’re Strange,” the new documentary film on The Doors. Narrated by Johnny Depp and nominated for the grand jury prize at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, the film features newly discovered footage of singer Jim Morrison, and Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek and John Densmore. Margaret Tobin Brown has invited fellow Coloradans Augusta Tabor, Justina Ford, Emily Griffith, Mary Elitch Long and Agnes Vaille over for tea and shortbread, and you can come, too. Costumed interpreters will portray these notable Coloradans as part of a Women’s History Month celebration in the third floor ballroom.
