CASTLE ROCK, Colo.—A Colorado state trooper has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving while he was in uniform in a marked patrol car.

Authorities say 48-year-old David Nolan was arrested by Douglas County sheriff’s deputies at about 7 a.m. Monday on Colorado 470, a beltway around southwest metro Denver.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cocha Heyden (COE’-shuh HI’-den) says Nolan is being booked on charges of driving under the influence and prohibited use of weapons.

State Patrol spokesman Ryan Sullivan says the patrol will have a statement later.

Heyden says Nolan was arrested after several people reported a State Patrol car driving erratically on Interstate 25 near Castle Rock, about 25 miles south of Denver.
