Colorado Eagles forward Kevin Ulanski was named the Central Hockey League’s most valuable player Monday.
Ulanski, a University of Denver product, led the CHL in scoring this season with 109 points, including 34 goals. He won the Eagles’ first scoring title by 12 points. In two seasons with the Eagles, he has 192 points (58 goals) in 127 games.
Sanders in USA Volleyball program.
Colorado State’s Evan Sanders, an all-Mountain West Conference setter from Centaurus High School, has been selected for the 24-player roster in USA Volleyball’s national A2 program. As a sophomore last year, Sanders helped lead CSU to the MWC title and a berth in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in a 25-6 season.
Sanders and the rest of the national A2 team will begin training May 24 in Tempe, Ariz.
Division II honors for Dominguez.
Mesa State basketball star Mike Dominguez was named a second-team Division II All-American. Also, the senior guard from Santa Fe accepted an invitation to play in the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ Division II All-Star Game on Friday in Springfield, Mass.
Dominguez, who averaged 21.6 points and 4.6 rebounds this season on a 23-6 team, will be the first Mesa State player to participate in the game.
