The “world famous” Minturn Mile is finally living up to its reputation, thanks to the World Wide Web and the friendly neighborhood social networkers on Facebook. Conditions of the popular backcountry skiing route linking Vail’s Game Creek Bowl to the nearby railroad town of Minturn are now updated semi-regularly by local “authorities” who frequent the run and the Minturn Saloon (which created the Web page) near the trail’s terminus. Recent posts note good spring skiing and margaritas, either frozen or on the rocks, depending on the day.
