SHANGHAI — Australian Stern Hu, a Rio Tinto Group iron-ore executive in China, pleaded guilty to bribery charges in a Shanghai court, according to the lawyer for one of his colleagues facing the same accusations.
Hu was accused of receiving about $878,900 in bribes, said Tao Wuping, who represented Liu Caikui at Monday’s hearing at Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court.
Four workers were charged with accepting bribes to help ensure iron-ore supplies, said Tao, citing the prosecutors’ case.
