SCHRIEVER AIR FORCE BASE, Colo.—Schriever (SHREE’-ver) Air Force Base has opened a new community center with an indoor pool, a children’s splash park, a playground and other amenities.
The formal dedication was held Monday at the base 10 miles east of Colorado Springs.
Schriever has about 6,200 personnel and is home to the 50th Space Wing.
The community center is part of a privatized housing project that will included 242 homes. All the homes are expected to be built by the end of this year.
