DENVER—The Colorado attorney general’s office is investigating 51 complaints against Westwood College in the past three years.
Attorney general’s spokesman Mike Saccone says the complaints were broad, but most said they were misled about tuition costs and the ability for credits to transfer. The complaints are not a public record.
School spokesman Gil Rudawsky said the college couldn’t comment because it hadn’t seen the complaints.
Denver-based Westwood has 17,000 students enrolled in online classes.
The attorney general’s office and the Better Business Bureau also have received a handful of complaints about other for-profit colleges, including one against Everest College and three against Colorado Technical University.
