If you attended the Avalanche-Kings game Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center, you may have seen a lot of orange.

The Avs reached out to the state hockey champion Lewis-Palmer Rangers — clad in orange and black — and invited the team and its families to Wednesday’s game. Early in the first period, a replay of Kyle Lee’s winning overtime goal against Ralston Valley and the Rangers’ celebration was shown.

The state title and entire season were dedicated to Rangers coach Steve Fillo’s son Stevie, who died in a car accident in August.
