A groundbreaking ceremony to signify the construction of a new basketball and volleyball practice facility for Colorado basketball and volleyball teams is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday.
The event will be adjacent to the north side of the Coors Events Center, where the $10.8 million structure will be located. The public is invited, with free parking in the nearby parking garage.
Completion date is August 2011. Cost of the project is funded through private donations. The practice facility will enable the CU men’s and women’s basketball teams and women’s volleyball squad to practice when there is a scheduling conflict with the CEC, which also is used for conferences, concerts and exams.
