Green Day is one of the most successful punk bands of all time. There’s the Broadway musical based on its Grammy-winning 2004 album, “American Idiot,” opening next month, but there are also rumors swirling that Tom Hanks will direct a film version. If that sounds bizarre coming from a band whose breakout disc was named “Dookie,” fret not: Such is the churn of pop culture, from snotty curios to respectable cash cows. The band is also among a small group of punks able to headline venues as big as the Comfort Dental Amphitheatre — which it will on Aug. 28. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($20-$85, Ticketmaster)

Umphrey’s McGee and Galactic will rule the Fourth of July musical weekend this year: Galactic will play the Gothic Theatre July 2, with Umphrey’s to follow there July 4. In between, the bands will co-headline Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 3 with openers the Wailers. Tickets for all shows are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($25- $40, Ticketmaster)

Justin Bieber’s fresh-faced appeal has spread far beyond his native Canada, causing the sort of frenzied teen-idol behavior familiar to aging Beatlemaniacs and fans of New Kids on the Block or ‘N Sync. Tickets for the pop singer’s July 8 show at the 1stBank Center with Sean Kingston are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($43.50-$53.50, TicketHorse)

Lady Gaga’s July 28 show at the Pepsi Center officially goes on sale Monday, and judging by the multiple-night sell-outs in other cities, fans would be wise to snatch them up quickly. ($53.50-$179, TicketHorse)

Yonder Mountain String Band is already planning a stop at Telluride’s big Bluegrass Festival in June, but fans can catch the Nederland- bred jamgrass act closer to home on Aug. 27 when it headlines Red Rocks with Leftover Salmon and Split Lip Rayfield. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, but here’s a hint: Visit the Ogden Theatre’s box office 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday to avoid the usual service fees. ($37.50-$42.50, Ticketmaster)

Insane Clown Posse — the horror-rap duo responsible for more hilarious fashion miscarriages than a generation of hard-drug users — will headline Red Rocks on May 31 with Kottonmouth Kings, Coolio, Kittie, Necro and Juggalo Clown Wrestling. You heard us right. Tickets are on sale. ($37.50-$40, Ticketmaster)

Dierks Bentley and the Travelin’ McCourys will bring their “Up on the Ridge” tour to the Boulder Theater on April 22. Tickets are on sale. ($44, )
