Big voice, big show

Tuesday. Arena-sized pop standards. Just how big is Canadian pop singer Michael Buble? Well, after quickly graduating from theaters and outgrowing the larger auditoriums, Buble is now a proud member of the arena club. When Buble plays the Pepsi Center, he will prove to his adoring, mostly female audience that his voice not only works in such a big room — but his vocals also thrive at a mile high. (We’ve seen him play Denver before. The singer with the big voice was barely winded at our altitude.) The Crazy Love tour is already getting great marks, and The New York Times called his recent Madison Square Garden concert “musically accomplished” in a very complimentary review. Tickets, $49.50-$89.50, are available via or 866-461-6556. Ricardo Baca

Men, women and country

Sunday. Roots music. Jakob Dylan escaped his famous father’s shadow long ago, and now he’s taking his songwriter cachet to another place. Performing with a new project called Women & Country, Dylan is touring with a new band of musicians and singers that includes songbird Neko Case. His latest creation is lush, organic and chill, as we saw at the South by Southwest music festival last week. The new band is a charmer, and the group of female voices that support his are where the big payoff comes. Dylan and his new group will record an episode of “etown” on Sunday at the Boulder Theater, and the other guest is banjo man Danny Barnes. Due to a scheduling conflict, Case will not appear with the band, according to , the radio program’s website. Tickets, $20.75, are available at boulder or 303-786-7030. Ricardo Baca
