Campground volunteers needed
Are you looking for a return to nature this summer? The Medicine Bow National Forest, outside of Laramie, Wyo., is seeking volunteers for campground hosts from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Responsibilities include spending a few hours interacting with visitors, along with some campground maintenance and cleaning. Campground hosts are provided with free camping, though many bring their own recreational vehicle. A small stipend is provided to cover daily camp expenses such as propane. 307-745-2363 or msanderson@fs.fed.us
Visit Montrose in May
Four special events over three days make Montrose the place to be this May. The Montrose Wine Festival kicks off May 14 with tastings and wine seminars running through the following evening. On May 15, the Black Canyon Ascent takes runners from the valley floor of Black Canyon in Gunnison National Park to the canyon rim. Also on May 15, celebrate Armed Forces Day at Cerise Park. And on May 16 join the non-competitive Mission to Ride cycling event that twists for 40 miles through the Black Canyon and Gunnison National Park. , , , . Dane Strom
