The Colorado-Colorado State season opener Sept. 4 will kick off the Mountain West Conference schedule next season. The MWC announced its league slate Monday.
The league’s TV partners also chose Washington at BYU (CBS College Sports) and Wisconsin at UNLV for the opening Saturday.
There is no bye week on CSU’s schedule, allowing the Rams to wrap up at Wyoming on Nov. 20, the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Unlike a year ago when CSU struggled against the MWC’s Big Three (BYU, Utah and TCU) in consecutive league games, the league powers are spread out. CSU opens the league slate hosting TCU Sept. 25. Air Force and UNLV follow and then the Rams head for Utah Oct. 23.
BYU visits Fort Collins Nov. 20 for the home finale.
In other league highlights, Air Force draws an early league-opener hosting BYU on Sept. 11. In a brutal first month, the Falcons go to Oklahoma the following week and play service academy rival Navy two weeks later.
The Falcons also don’t have a bye week, closing Nov. 18 at UNLV.
Wyoming heads for Texas the second week of the season and hosts Boise State Sept. 18.
