DURANGO, Colo.—The La Plata Electric Association says an underground fault at the base of Durango Mountain Resort left almost 440 customers without power late Wednesday.

LPEA manager of operations Steve Gregg says the cable failed and caused the outage around 11:08 p.m. Wednesday. All but six customers had power restored by 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Gregg says it’s not immediately clear what caused the cable to fail.
