BOULDER, Colo.—A convicted serial killer is being barred from having copies of documents from his case after prosecutors told a judge he forged some of them to support his claims of alternative suspects and conspiracies.
The Boulder District Attorney’s office says 43-year-old Scott Kimball distributed the fake documents to the media. Prosecutors say they found the fake documents in his jail cell in February.
A judge ruled this week that Kimball can no longer have copies of his defense files and that the files he has will be confiscated.
Kimball pleaded guilty in October to second-degree murder in the deaths of Jennifer Marcum, Kaysi McLeod, LeAnn Emry and his uncle, Terry Kimball. The slayings happened in 2003 and 2004.
