A child killed in a highway crash has been identified, and a truck driver involved in the wreck has been arrested.
Aileen J. Rodriguez, a 2-year-old from Rock Island, Ill., died Tuesday when the minivan she was sitting in on the shoulder of Interstate 76 near E-470 was hit from behind by a rental truck.
The girl was in a child-safety seat at the time of the crash, the Brighton Police Department said.
The driver of the truck, James Diggs, 55, of Ann Arbor, Mich., was arrested after being released Wednesday from a local hospital, police said.
