The man killed after he was hit by bus in Aurora on Monday has been identified as 78-year-old Clinton Glenn Grider.
Aurora police have said it appeared the man might have been on the sidewalk when he was struck at the intersection of South Peoria Street and East Mississippi Avenue.
The bus was traveling north on Peoria and police stopped it about 2 miles later — at Del Mar Circle — and took the driver into custody for questioning and a drug test, Regional Transportation District officials said.
RTD spokesman Scott Reed has said the bus driver — whose name was not released — and his passengers were unaware a pedestrian had been struck.
