DENVER—Colorado’s top lawyer is taking on some well-known medical marijuana advocates in a debate over whether the growth of pot shops is a problem.
Attorney General John Suthers is the biggest name capping a week of debates on medical marijuana at the University of Denver Law School. Suthers was scheduled for a debate Wednesday against lawyer Robert Corry, who defends marijuana dispensaries and says Colorado puts up too many barriers for medical marijuana patients.
Suthers says Colorado voters never intended to allow marijuana dispensaries to proliferate and that state officials need to limit them.
Also joining the debate is Mason Tvert (Tuh-VERT), who says marijuana should be made legal.
