GREELEY, Colo.—Unionized workers at the JBS USA beef packing plant in Greeley have approved a new contract that includes raises.

Officials with the company and United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 say raises will be retroactive to November, when the previous agreement expired.

Company spokesman Gary Rhodes said Monday that workers would get an hourly wage increase of $1.30 over the life of the contract, which runs through September 2013 and covers about 3,000 employees.

Employees with at least 25 years of service get a fifth week of vacation. Rhodes says the union and company worked to keep health care affordable, and the union says some workers will pay lower health insurance copays.
